Upon instructions from Sri Sathya Sai Baba, this page documents some of the various miracles He has performed.
The vibhuti and kum kum which have been materialised on the idols contain special healing powers which many devotees have found beneficial
for their health.
In August 1994,the Omkumar family discovered that their 4 month old son Vishnu suffered from Beta
Thalasemia Major, for which there is no cure. They began constant prayers to Lord Vishnu for help. A Sai devotee,
Mr. Krishnamurthy Naidu came daily to pray for Vishnu's health. On December 1st of the same year, Swami
showered vibhuti on His picture, a sign He had heard their prayers. From the moment the prayers started,
people voluntarily came forward, offering to donate blood for the transfusions which Vishnu needed monthly.
Many devotees visited the family, and instructed them to have a chair for Swami, and to place a Ganesha idol
under His pictures. Vibhuti started to materialise every day on this idol, which began a series of miracles
described below. Please view the pictures by clicking on the underlined dates.
17th February 1995 - Started performing Namasmarana puja (the recitation of 1008 names of Sri Sathya Sai
Baba - the Lord which resides in all creation). On the first occasion, Swami materialised a large sugar cube
27th February 1995 - On Sivarathri, a 12 hour bhajan was conducted. A letter asking for Swami?s attendance
at the bhajan had been placed at the foot of His chair. After the bhajan had
concluded, vibhuti, kum kum, small sugar cubes and 51 rupees were materialised.
11th March 1995 - In the morning at 5:30am, Swami materialised a large quantity
of vibhuti on the plate
placed under the silver Ganesha idol. In another container amrit had also materialised.
23rd March 1995 - Swami showed the devotees how to perform the puja rituals by sprinkling yellow rice on
top of the idol.
1st April 1995
- On Ugadi (Telugu New Year) fruits, milk and clothes had been laid out for
Swami. Thesewere later taken and eaten by Swami. Thus began the telephone calls from Swami where he gives
direct instructions of activities to be carried out.
